Your new role
Seeking an experienced App Modernization/Cloud Migration Java Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in migrating and modernizing client’s legacy applications to cloud-native solutions. You will be responsible for developing, and implementing Java-based applications and working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment in the cloud environment.
Analyze legacy applications with the Solution Architect/business team to identify modernization opportunities, work on Java, SpringBoot, Microservices, and beyond 12-factor principles to refactor, re-architect, and re-platform applications to cloud-native architectures. For Cloud Migration, plan and execute the transition of on-premises applications to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), implementing best practices for various migration strategies and handling database migrations. In Development and Integration, design, develop, and maintain Java and Spring-based applications and microservices with an API First approach, collaborate with DevOps teams for automated deployments, integrate with cloud services and third-party REST APIs, and write TDD and BDD test cases while following code quality and security best practices.
What you'll need to succeed
- Strong skills in Java, Spring MVC/Spring Boot, Hibernate, JDBCTemplate, JPA, and JUnit.
- Extensive experience with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, including development, deployment, and migration of Java/J2EE applications.
- Hands-on experience in migrating monolithic applications to microservices and modernizing legacy applications.
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and Service Mesh for containerization and orchestration.
- Familiarity with Gradle, Maven, Git, and the ability to build, deploy, and manage applications in cloud environments.
- Expertise in creating SOAP/REST APIs and integrating with front-end microservices and back-end systems.
- Ensuring application security by implementing best practices and security measures in Java applications.
- Knowledge of Kafka, Redis, SQL/NoSQL databases (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB), and experience with microservices architecture patterns and beyond 12-factor principles.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, MCA/MS/M.Sc. or equivalent degree.
- Minimum of 4-8 years of experience in Java, Spring development and 2-3 years cloud exp.
- Proven experience in application modernization and cloud migration projects.
- Good English.
